DOUGLAS RICE Senior Manager & Sale Operations | CADCA Doug Rice is the Senior Manager, Training and Sales Operations for CADCA. In this role, he is responsible for customized training for adult, youth and evaluation services. Doug promotes CADCA’s industry leading training in a variety of substance use and misuse topics to coalitions and prevention professionals. These efforts give coalitions the ability to personally design effective training to meet their specific needs, such as, how to successfully implement the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF), including community assessment, building coalition capacity, logic models, comprehensive strategies and coalition evaluation. Doug maintains an open dialogue and information exchange with community substance misuse coalitions to address their changing needs and ensure CADCA’s products and services are relevant, impactful and uniquely focused to increase the effectiveness of community coalitions. Doug uses feedback from coalitions to guide enhancement of existing or development of new CADCA products and services. Doug has over 25 years of sales and marketing experience in communications, public relations, advertising, brand management, consumer segmentation and vendor relations. In his spare time, he loves to relax by reading science fiction novels, working on DIY projects and restoring old cars. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing fromWestern Michigan University. Described by NBC as the “prodigy” of drug politics and policy, Kevin A. Sabet, PhD, is an author, consultant, former advisor to three U.S. presidential administrations, assistant professor, and serves as the President and CEO of SAM, which he founded with former Congressman Patrick Kennedy in 2013. He has studied, researched, written about, and implemented drug policy for almost 20 years. He has worked in the Clinton (2000), Bush (2002-2003) Administrations, and in 2011 he stepped down after serving more than two years as the senior advisor to President Obama’s drug control director, having been the only drug policy staffer to have ever served as a political appointee in a Democrat and Republican administration. He has appeared since at the Aspen Ideas and New Yorker festivals, on the Organization of American States blue ribbon commission advising hemispheric drug policy, and in hundreds of forums and discussions promoting the ideas outlined in his first book, Reefer Sanity: Seven Great Myths About Marijuana, published by Beaufort. He has been featured on the front page of the New York Times and in virtually every major media publication and news channel on the subject of drug policy. Jamie Sierfeld has been a part of the Partners in Prevention (PIP) team since 2015, when the Lindsey Meyer Teen Institute (LMTI) officially became a program of the agency. Prior to stepping into her current role as PIP’s Training Director, Jamie was the Director of LMTI for 18 years. She has over 20 years of experience in the fields of youth engagement and alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention. A former participant of the Teen Institute herself, Jamie truly believes in the power of young people, and in the importance of providing space and opportunity for youth to gain leadership skills and confidence in themselves and their unique abilities. Career highlights have included successfully managing LMTI through three different non-profit parent agencies, serving as a member of the National Association of Teen Institutes board for over a decade, and watching thousands of young people step into their greatness.
