POWER SESSION TONY HOFFMAN 3:15 PM - 4:00 PM World Ranked after paroling prison on December 13, 2008, Tony Hoffman started living out his dream, with his addiction behind him. His story is full of redemption and his view of the highest highs, and the lowest lows. Tony is a former BMX Elite Pro and placed 2nd in the Masters Pro class at the 2016 World Championships in Colombia. He coachedWomen’s Elite Pro, Brooke Crain, to a 4th place finish at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in Brazil. Tony has presented on the prestigious TEDx stage and Goalcast video and is one of the most requested substance abuse speakers in the country. He is the Founder and Director of The Freewheel Project, a non-profit organization that mentors thousands of youth through action sports. In 2020, he will complete his autobiography, Keys To The Wounded Soul as well as The First 90 a 90-day devotional to help those on the journey of recovery. Tony’s goal is to open the Tony Hoffman Wellness Center to assist those struggling with addiction. The Early Years Tony’s BMX career started as a teenager and top-ranked BMX amateur with multiple endorsements. In High School in Clovis, Ca, Tony started drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana, and using prescription painkillers (Vicodin and Oxycontin). His life took a turn for the worse as he became addicted at such a young age, losing everything. Tony committed a home invasion armed robbery, and was ultimately sent to prison for two years. He violated his probation due to his addiction in spite of the threat of a ten-year prison sentence. From this despair, Tony began rebuilding his life’s purpose while he spent two years in prison. Upon his release, he used the positives and negatives of his life to get to where he is, today. Today Tony has been sober since May 17, 2007. He is a changed man devoted to inspiring others to live their life with purpose. Tony has dedicated his life, to bring awareness around the country of the dangers of prescription pills and heroin, as well as, advocating a shift in thinking towards current addiction-recovery processes.
